The Story
Sayyed Alim Hussain, a 13-year-old boy, is undergoing medical evaluation for a possible tuberculosis (TB) infection involving a cervical lymph node (a lymph node in the neck).
As part of his medical investigations at P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, the GeneXpert MTB/RIF Ultra test did not detect tuberculosis bacteria in the submitted lymph node sample. The preliminary TB culture report also stated that acid-fast bacilli were not seen.
However, the TB culture was still pending at the time of the report, and further evaluation by his treating doctors is necessary to establish the cause of the lymph node swelling and determine the appropriate treatment.
At Child Education and Vision Foundation (CEVF), we believe every child deserves access to timely medical care, dignity, and the opportunity to live a healthy life. We are committed to helping children from underprivileged backgrounds access the medical attention and support they need.
Your support can help a child receive the care he needs. Together, we can work towards a healthier and brighter future for children who need our help.
Medical note: The final diagnosis and treatment plan should be confirmed by the treating medical team after reviewing all test results.
